ESL One Los Angeles will be the third Important for the 2019-20 Dota P …

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 is bringing a Dota Guru Circuit Major back to North America for the first time since the format’s beginning in 2017.

There have been several Minor tournaments held at the U.S. since then, for example Dota Summit 11 at the beginning of November, yet this partnership is bringing the creation of ESL and Valve together to make what will basically be a Super Major in among the esports hubs of the world.

“Los Angeles is famous for world class entertainment and that’s just what we intend to provide together with all the LA Major,” explained Ulrich Schulze, ESL’s senior vice president of merchandise. “We are now bringing our ESL Dota 2 flagship contest to the US West Coast for the first time and we’re proud to deliver world-class Dota two action to the neighborhood ”

Since this is a DPC Major, there’ll be 16 teams competing in the event. Fifteen of those teams will create it in throughout the regional qualifiers while the final spot will be reserved for the winner of the unannounced Minor tournament that will operate from March 3 to 8.

The regional qualifiers for the event will start on Feb. 9, only two weeks following the next Major of the year, DreamLeague Season 13, will conclude.

As usual, the prize pool for the Major is set at $1 million and there are 15,000 DPC points up for grabs, too. As it is the next big DPC event, this could become the turning point of the season for several teams, only like DreamLeague Season 11 was for Vici Gaming last season.

In typical significant manner, the group stage will happen away from the main venue. Tickets for the primary event will go on sale Nov. 21 on the official ESL event page.

The last time a Dota Major was held in the U.S. had been The Boston Major and OG dominated that occasion. And we might see that occur again when ESL One Los Angeles comes to the Shrine Auditorium from March 20 to 22.
